Directed: Aditya Sarpotdar

Address Mahim, Mumbai
Last week, I got an
opportunity to watch a Marathi feature film, “Zombivili”. After seeing the
film, I felt that this film is an ambitious project of director Aditya
Sarpotdar. Even though such kind of films have been made in Hollywood and also
in Bollywood, It is a different project in Marathi. Aditya Sarpotdar has
experimented in such a way which comes to fore with some different things.
This story started in
Dombivili which is situated nearer to Mumbai with the rehabilitation project.
Builder Musale is a fraudulent person. He did the construction of a tower in
Dombivli by promising buyers of flats in the tower that there would be twenty
four hours water supply , but residents suffer due to shortage of water supply.
Sudhir Joshi (Amey Wagh ) who purchased the flat in the same tower and came to
stay with his pregnant wife Seema (Vaidehi Parashurami). Coincidentally
Sudhir Joshi is working as an engineer in the factory of the same builder which
makes mineral water. This factory has damaged the environment of the
neighboring slum known as Janatanagar. Viswas (Lalit Prabhakar) who stays in
the Janatanagar always oppose the project of factory. Thus, there is
burning issue of water between the community and the society and also the issue
of making of mineral water. Suddenly a disease spreads in the area and people
start getting hospitalized. This disease gets out of control and a series of
Zombies endures. In this case, Zombie bites a person and that person also
becomes a Zombie. When Sudhir, Seema, Vishwas come to know this has happened
due to chemicals used by the factory . They try to save the people from
Zombies.
The story is based on
scientific references. It is very well written by Mahesh Iyer, Sainath Ganuwad
and Yogesh Joshi. Its music is also nicely composed by Vaibhav Deshmukh and two
songs Vinchu Chavala and Angaat Alaya are amazing. Performances of Amey Wagh,
Lalit Prabhakar, Vaidehi Parashurami, Trupti Khamkhar in the film are energetic
and wonderful. The makeup of Zombie, VFX, background music and cinematography
in the film are excellent. Above all, director Aditya Sarpotdar deserved
full marks for handling this project successfully. This movie stays in the mind
till it gets over . It is a very good film to watch.
This is a welcome experiment
for Marathi cinema. Do not miss to watch
Thank you
