The Life of sporting Hero: Denis Compton: A Good Book on The Cavalier of Cricket

The Life of sporting Hero: Denis Compton: A Good Book on The Cavalier of Cricket I always love the game of Cricket. I feel every cricket lover should watch the game or play the game just to enjoy. Then, this game will give you so much pleasure which cannot be expressed in words.  This is being realized at the time of reading the biography of such a talented England’s double international player as he was playing Cricket and Football at international level. He was also known as a Brylcreem boy because he was doing the advertisement for Brylcreem hair cream. Such a handsome player was Denis Charles Scott Compton and the name of the book,” The life of Sporting Hero: Denis Compton written by Tim Heald”. I got the opportunity to read this book to understand the cricketing era from late 1930 till late 1950. Since he retired as a cricket player in 1958 i.e. before my birth, I can understand the cricket of the old era through books only. As per the book, he was an outstanding sportsman...

Purushottam Laxman Deshpande: A Multifaceted Genius And Keen Observer Of Human Life . While reading the book Humour and Humanity written by Stephen Leacock, I came across with one sentence in the book which said that Humour is the compassionate contemplation of life’s inconsistencies and its artistic invention, and immediately I remembered one personality who was having full understanding of the human psychology and he glorified the human behaviour through his writing style of humour and satire.  This Personality was a multifaceted genius. He was an author, playwright, screenplay writer, films director and producer, actor, singer, harmonium player, music composer, orator and above all he was a great observer of human behaviour. Manik Varma: The Finest Jewel In The Crown of Hindustani Classical and light Music

Manik Varma: The Finest Jewel In The Crown of Hindustani Classical and light Music Last week, one of my school classmates posted a message about one Marathi song on our School classmate WhatsApp group and mentioned that All India Radio used to play this Marathi song in the morning on every Vijayadashami or Dussehra day in their Mangal Prabhat Program. That song was Vijay Pataaaka Shriraamaachi Jhalakate Ambari, Prabhu Aale Mandiri. This song was composed in Raag Deskar by musician Bal Mate and lyrics were penned by Yogeshwar Abhyankar. This song was sung in a mellifluous and sonorous voice by such a singer who presented numerous musical forms with notable insight, skill and effect and her aalaps were more raaga-centered than note-centered. She was no one else but Manik Amar Varma whose music is fitted in all media like broadcasting, films and any modern concert. After reading this message, I started reminiscing about her ability to give justice to various types of music with equal ...
